Well done to everyone who took part in the first day of the 2022 Cavan Cross Country Championships on Sunday 25th September in Donohoe's field Crover. There was a great turn out from the club and all gave a very fine account of themselves.
We will post a fuller report once the full results are available, as we only have the top 3 from each race at present. Iosa Lynch and Kate Fitzpatrick finished a very close second and third in their under 10s 600 metre race. Isabella Condon took the bronze medal in the under 12 girl's 1,200m race. A problem on the start line saw the U10 boys event split into two races, with Mason Cullen, Logan Rotheram and Finn Briody taking the top three positions in their 600m event.
And in the masters women 3K, Trisha Brady was the winner of the V1 category, while Simon Nulty took the silver medal in the men's V1 race and Martin Brady won the gold medal in the V3 category over a distance of 5K.
In the girls U10 event, Íosa Lynch and Kate Fitzpatrick finished in second and third places in the 600m race, leading teammates Jamie and Riley Condon, Ruby Reilly, Zoe Tully, Heidi Donohoe, Meave McGahern, Ruby Cullen, Aoibhinn Kelly, Kayla Smith and Neasa Smith to team gold.
In the U12 girls race, Isabella Condon took an individual bronze medal, heading her team of Holly Cullen, Soairse Lynch, Annie Coyle and Rose Sheridan as they took the silver team medal position.
There were many more fine performances and personal milestones from the Innyvale crew to be proud of and which contributed to a strong team preformance and we will update you on team medals as soon as the County Board confirm the full results. Well done to all
