Kaitlin In Top 5 At All-Ireland Indoors in Athlone, 1st April

Well done to Kaitlin Shaw on her performance in the All-Ireland Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday 1st April in Athlone. Kaitlin took part in the Under 12 girl’s shot putt event, which proved to be a highly competitive affair. The Ulster champion started the strongest, taking the lead in round one and as others improved around her, Kaitlin improved in the final two rounds to a best of 7.30m. Ulster Gold for Kaitlin in Shot Putt, 11 March 2023

Congratulations to Kaitlin Shaw on her victory in the Under 12 girls shot putt at the Ulster Indoor Track & Field at the Athlone Indoor Athletics arena on Saturday 11th March. Kaitlin won with a best throw of 6.81m.

Spring League Round 2, Clones, 5-3-23

The second round of the Cavan Spring League took place in a cool but dry PeaceLink track in Clones on Sunday 5th March. While our numbers taking part were limited by a number of confirmations, a good number of athletes made the trip to take part and they were rewarded with a series of strong performances and results.

The 2023 track and field athletics season got underway in Shercock on Sunday 19th February with the Cavan Spring League. The cool but dry day saw a promising start to the season for Innyvale AC with a series of strong performances from our athletes across all disciplines.

Cavan Sportshall February 2023

Well done to Navah O'Donohue, Íosa Lynch and Max Manning who took part in the Cavan Sportshall event in Shercock on Saturday 11th February. All three competed in a mix of sprints, jumps and throwing events, as well as team relays in a format designed to be a friendly, low pressure introduction to athletics competitions.

Sportshall Finishes off 2022 in Shercock, 25th November

The final competition of the year was held on 25th November. Well done to Caolan Brady and brothers Logan and Tony Rotheram who took part in the Cavan Sportshall event in Shercock’s Craig Lynch Centre, taking part in a number of sprints, jumps, throws and relay events with each picking up a medal.
Winter League Comes To Kilnaleck, 13th November 2022

Innyvale hosted the Cavan Winter League in Kilnaleck in which saw a big turnout from all clubs in the county. Our athletes acquitted themselves well on their home course, with strong performances throughout the field.

Strong Showing at Cross Country in Killinkere, 9th October 2022

Well done to everyone who took part in the second day of the Cavan Cross Country in Killinkere on th 9th October. We had a fabulous turnout from the club once again and a tough but enjoyable series of races. The coaches are very happy and proud of the individual performances of our athletes regardless of their ability, all gave it their best and ensured a strong showing from their teams.

Well done to everyone who took part in the first day of the 2022 Cavan Cross Country Championships on Sunday 25th September in Donohoe's field Crover. There was a great turn out from the club and all gave a very fine account of themselves.

The first event of the new season was the Winter League which took place in Shercock on 15th September. Well done to Martin Brady who took part in the men’s 5K around Shercock town and finished his first race for the club in 5th place overall, while Trisha Brady finished the women’s 2K in 7th overall. The All-Ireland Juvenile Track and Field finals were held across four days at the start of July, with seven of our athletes taking part. The Children's Games for Under 9 to 11s took place on Saturday 2nd July in Tullamore, Co. Offaly were six Innyvale AC athletes were in action in the event.

Double All-Ireland medals for Innyvale's Casey Mulvey at Senior Championship

Innyvale AC's Casey Mulvey grabbed two podium places at the national track and field championships in Dublin. The Cavan woman took shot putt silver and hammer bronze in Morton stadium Santry adding more medals to the Innyvale mantle-piece.
Casey fourth effort in the shot put of 13.58 metres claimed silver head of Dundalk’s Katherine O’Connor who twice threw 13.42 metres. Gold went to Swinford’s Michaela Walsh with a best of 14.58 metres.

Ulster Gold & Silver for Casey Mulvey, 18 June 2022

The Ulster Senior Track and Field Championships were held on Satruday 18th June in Belfast's Mary Peter's Track and Innyvale AC's Casey Mulvey was in action in the hammer and shot putt events. Casey threw 13.84m in the shot putt, leaving her just over two meters clear of her fellow competitors and earning her an Ulster gold medal.

Silver & Bronze Ulster Medals for Lana Morton

Congratulations to Lana Morton who travelled to the Antrim Forum on Sunday 12th June to take part in the Ulster Track & Field Championships and picked up two Ulster medals in the Under 17 category. Lana earned a silver medal for the shot putt, sending the 3kg shot out to 7.84m, while in the javelin, she threw 21.66m to take the bronze medal. Ulster Children's Games Clones 5 June 2022

The Ulster Children’s Games Track & Field competition for Under 9 to 13s took place in the Peacelink track in Clones, Co. Monaghan on Sunday 5th June and saw a contingent of 20 athletes from Innyvale AC taking part. This event is both an individual competition for all ages, but also sees children in the U9-11 ages paired up with their clubmates, with the top three pairs in each event qualifying for nationals in July.

An enthusiastic group of 29 athletes from Innyvale AC took part in the Cavan Spring League athletics competition on Sunday 13th March at the PeaceLink athletics track in Clones. Our young athletes, ranging from eight to fourteen, were a mix of seasoned athletes and those experiencing athletics competition for the first time and they brought a positive mood which could not be ruined by the at times very windy day and occasional rain showers.

Athletics Training Returns

From the 18th January, Innyvale Athletics Club continues training every Tuesday at 6.00 to 7.00pm in Dr. Plunkett Park, Kilnaleck. We take children age six and over for a mix of sprints, distance running, jumping and throwing events. Registration is €20 per child, capped at €50 per family.
