The All-Ireland Juvenile Track and Field finals were held across four days at the start of July, with seven of our athletes taking part. The Children's Games for Under 9 to 11s took place on Saturday 2nd July in Tullamore, Co. Offaly were six Innyvale AC athletes were in action in the event.

Innyvale AC's Casey Mulvey grabbed two podium places at the national track and field championships in Dublin. The Cavan woman took shot putt silver and hammer bronze in Morton stadium Santry adding more medals to the Innyvale mantle-piece.
Casey fourth effort in the shot put of 13.58 metres claimed silver head of Dundalk’s Katherine O’Connor who twice threw 13.42 metres. Gold went to Swinford’s Michaela Walsh with a best of 14.58 metres.

The Ulster Senior Track and Field Championships were held on Satruday 18th June in Belfast's Mary Peter's Track and Innyvale AC's Casey Mulvey was in action in the hammer and shot putt events. Casey threw 13.84m in the shot putt, leaving her just over two meters clear of her fellow competitors and earning her an Ulster gold medal.

Congratulations to Lana Morton who travelled to the Antrim Forum on Sunday 12th June to take part in the Ulster Track & Field Championships and picked up two Ulster medals in the Under 17 category. Lana earned a silver medal for the shot putt, sending the 3kg shot out to 7.84m, while in the javelin, she threw 21.66m to take the bronze medal. The Ulster Children’s Games Track & Field competition for Under 9 to 13s took place in the Peacelink track in Clones, Co. Monaghan on Sunday 5th June and saw a contingent of 20 athletes from Innyvale AC taking part. This event is both an individual competition for all ages, but also sees children in the U9-11 ages paired up with their clubmates, with the top three pairs in each event qualifying for nationals in July.

An enthusiastic group of 29 athletes from Innyvale AC took part in the Cavan Spring League athletics competition on Sunday 13th March at the PeaceLink athletics track in Clones. Our young athletes, ranging from eight to fourteen, were a mix of seasoned athletes and those experiencing athletics competition for the first time and they brought a positive mood which could not be ruined by the at times very windy day and occasional rain showers.

From the 18th January, Innyvale Athletics Club continues training every Tuesday at 6.00 to 7.00pm in Dr. Plunkett Park, Kilnaleck. We take children age six and over for a mix of sprints, distance running, jumping and throwing events. Registration is €20 per child, capped at €50 per family. Huge congratulations from the club to Innyvale athlete Casey Mulvey who has recently been confirmed as the new Ulster record holder for the Senior and Junior women's shot putt and discus events.
Casey's performance in Split, Croatia on the 8th May 2021 delivered her not one but two Ulster records simulainiously. Her throw of 15.62metres set a new benchmark in both the Junior and Senior women's shot putt. And on 31st July, Casey did likewise in the discus, reach...Read Full Post »

Innyvale AC's Casey Mulvey achieved the qualification standard for the 2021 European Under 20 Indoor Athletics Championships in the National Indoor Arena in Abbotstown, Dublin last Saturday, 20th February. The NIA played host to what Athletics Ireland dubbed a micro meet for elite athlete, taking the place of the National Indoor Track and Field which was cancelled due to the pandemic restrictions. As the country comes out of lockdown, some sporting fixtures have been able to resume and Athletics Ireland held a Jumps and Throws Festival on the 8th of August in Santry's Morton Stadium.
The event saw junior and senior athletes competing in a single group and Innyvale AC's Casey Mulvey took part in two events, with very strong showings in both. On the advice of Athletics Ireland and the Government, all group training sessions are cancelled indefinitely. We know this will be disappointing to many of our members but we hope that everyone understands the need to prevent groups of children physically interacting with each other, particularly in a club which heavily uses javelins, shot putts, relay batons etc that are handled by all as well as the number of children at our training.

Huge congratulations from the club to Innyvale athlete Casey Mulvey who took part in the All Ireland Senior Indoor Track & Field on 29th February in the National Indoor Arena in Abbotstown. Casey competed in the senior women's shot putt, steadily improving her throws as she progressed through the six rounds. It was to be her final throw that made all the difference and produced a silver medal as Casey sent the 4 kilogram shot out to 13.06 metres. The first of two days of the Cavan Athletics' Spring League took place on a Sunday 23rd February at the PeaceLink track in Clones. The crisp but dry winter's morning saw a wide variety of Cavan's athletes in action, from the youngest age groups right up to masters category. Innyvale AC had a good turnout from our athletes with 15 children taking part in the various races, jumps and throwing events, many of them for the first time.

Cavan Spring Development League takes place on Sunday 23rd February at the PeaceLink track in Clones from 10.30am. This event is open to all age groups and entry cost is covered by the club. The second day of the Sportshall for Under 9 to U11s is on Sunday16th February at St. Macartan's College in Monaghan Town (beside Lakeland Dairies, click link below for map).
